Program:

1. Day : Departure from your destination

Departure by your Airticket.

2. Day : Hanoi, arrival (D)

Arrive in Hanoi. Transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi.

3. Day : Hanoi, Halong (B,L,D)

A morning city tour of Vietnam's capital. Hanoi is a unique city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, ancient temples, old pagodas and peaceful lakes. Visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh's house-on-stilts, One-Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature. Afternoon enjoy the interesting 3-hour drive to Halong, along the way you will see rice fields, water buffalo and daily Vietnamese village life. Overnight in Halong.

4. Day : Halong, Hanoi (B,L,D)

A 5-hour private boat trip to visit Thien Cung cave (grotto of the Heavenly Place) and Dau Go cave (grotto of the wooden stakes). A fresh seafood lunch will be served on board before journeying back to Halong city. Back to Hanoi. Evening, enjoy water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi.

5. Day : Hanoi, Hao Lu, Tam, Coc, Hanoi (B,L,D)

A pleasant 3-hour drive to Hoa Lu, an ancient capital of Vietnam in 9th century, the ancient citadel - most of which has since been destroyed - once covered an area of three square kilometres. Visit the temples dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang of the Dinh Dynasty (968 - 980) and Emperor Le Dai Hanh of the Le Dynasty (980 - 1009). Transfer to Tam Coc town. After lunch, take private sampan on the river for an hour and a half through the rice paddies to the grottoes of the sacred Tam Coc cave. On the way, visit Bich Dong pagoda, set among pink lotuses, the temple offers spectacular views of the surrounding area. Late afternoon back to Hanoi . Overnight in Hanoi.

6. Day : Hanoi, Hue (B,L,D)

After breakfast, tranfer to Noi Bai airport for a short flight to Hue, the former Imperial capital of Vietnam. Transfer to hotel. Visit the Imperial Citadel, Dong Ba market in the afternoon. Enjoy the traditional folk songs on Perfume River in the evening. Overnight in Hue.

7. Day : Hue, Danang, Hoi An (B,L,D)

A boat trip on the romantic Perfume River to visit Hue's best-known religious site: Thien Mu pagoda, and mausoleum of the former Emperor Minh Mang, built as the plan drawn out by the king himself and on the place chosen by the king too in the middle of the pine forest. After lunch, depart for Danang, the scenic route passes to the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co before climbing over Hai Van pass (the pass of ocean clouds). Arrive Danang, visit Cham museum, the best collection of Cham artifacts in the world. On the way to Hoi An, take a visit to the Marble Mountain, a large garden mount complex and invaluabe gift of nature listed as a national heritage. Arrive in Hoi An, a major Asian trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries. Overnight in Hoi An.

8. Day : Hoi An (B,L,D)

A boat trip on Thu Bon River to visit traditional villages around Hoi An. Afternoon, take a walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit the former merchants' houses, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, ancient pagodas and temples and the colourful market with shopping time. Overnight in Hoi An.

9. Day : Hoi An, Danang, Ho Chi Minh City (B,L,D)

Leave Hoi An after breakfast to Danang airport for a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Transfer to hotel. An afternoon city tour of the dynamic Ho Chi Minh City, still called Saigon, visit War museum, Central post office, Notre Dame cathedral, and the bustling China Town. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

10. Day : Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh, Cu Chi tunels, Ho Chi Minh City (B,L,D)

Enjoy a drive through typical southern Vietnamese countryside to Tay Ninh province in the west of Vietnam, visit the Cao Dai temple with fantasy architecture and where all major faiths of the world blend together in a unique religious cocktail and amazing noon ceremony. After lunch in a local restaurant, visit the famous Cu Chi tunnels, the vestiges of the American war, an underground tunnel constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the long truggle for independence. Back to Ho Chi Minh City. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

11. Day : Ho Chi Minh City, departure (B)

Morning at leisure for shopping in Ho Chi Minh City. Transfer to Tan Son Nhat airport for next destination.

12. Day : Arrival
